The 12 Days Of Halloween

I think that all holidays should be like Christmas, as in having 12 days. Not that I'm up for 12 days of trick-or-treating but I LOVE the idea that if you talk, share pictures, or say blog, about the said holiday within 12 days, it's still relevant. That's my argument and I'm sticking to it! So seeing that in my world we are still in the midst of Halloween madness, I thought I'd share what we've been up to so far this trick-or-treat season. It was a weekend of festivities, though this time our parties didn't include barely-there costumes and candy corn martinis, sorry kids but these days we're much more PG.

We kicked off our Halloween weekend with a visit to the Magnolia Village Street Fair, a mecca of cute kids (we joked that your kids have to pass a cuteness test to be admitted) and CANDY. All of Magnolia & friends were out to impress . . . seriously a large number of the dads in attendance were not messing around, they came decked out and ready to get their candy on!

How cute is Jackson's girlfriend Olivia (the kitty)? Getting into the full spirit of the holiday she even learned to say "mmmmeow" on demand!

The next day we joined our friends for the Halloween Fest at their church. Now growing up in a christian household I have been to my share of holiday fests, all with the predictable ring toss, cake walk, etc, etc. Now this festival had these oldies but goodies, but also had a Rock Band balloon room, over ten different bouncy houses, and a movie screen sized video game wall. Jackson & his buddy Ella, over-sugared and overwhelmed. The daddies, in little boy heaven.

Look closely, that's a pirate tattoo on our little giraffe, and yes, a bouncy slide behind our pals Damon & Ella, something that the little bumblebee couldn't get enough of!

Last stop of the weekend (thank god!) was a birthday party/Halloween bash with our PEPS group. By this time, Sunday night, Jackson was overtired, overwhelmed, and completely over the camera, but here are some of his buddies in their finest attire. Seriously how cute are these (soon-to-be) one year olds in costume?

After three days of kids, candy, and costumes Brad and I were exhausted!! It's tough having fun :)! Last night we called a much needed, mandatory, grown-ups only, at-home date night, complete with a bottle of wine and the movie Bottleshock. If you have yet to see it, it's time to put it in your queues folks.

Hope you & yours had a frightfully good weekend!
