Camera Shy

We've been a little camera shy lately, ok, make that a lot camera shy. Either the constant pop of the flash has scarred my child for life, sentencing him to a verrrrrrrry long life of begrudging posing for pictures OR he's just so dang brilliant that he's much more intrigued by the workings of that 'big, black thing mommy's always holding' than hamming it up for camera! Really, it could go either way :).

This past month has brought a new sense of comic relief to our house, it seems daily Jackson debuts a new laugh, sound, smile, or "trick" (such as sitting up, bouncing, holding toys . . . all the little things that to us new parents seem as momentous as the building of the Sistine Chapel!). Not that we can share most of these amazing moments with you, since as soon as the camera comes out, the face falls and all of a sudden our scene-stealer becomes a stiff baby with a pout. Which I can't lie, is cute in a whole different way!

Here's a few moments from the past few weeks that I have been able to capture (usually in stealth mode)!

Baby-gym time! He loves to workout. No really, you think those thighs got that way on their own? :)

Curious George has nothing on Jackson, he's intrigued by everything! And when he makes a little discovery it's happy dance time. Live, love, and dance right? :)

Oh yeah, the other favorite activity (besides working it out in the gym) is eating!! Milk is of course the meal of choice, but really anything will do. I think the days of teething have begun!

This past weekend we headed out to Hood Canal for the day, the sun was out and calling our names (cabin fever has set in at our house . . . big time!). Jackson's first beach trip was short lived, due to the crazy winds, but never the less a success. We think (and hope) we have a future beach bum on our hands!

Happy 4 months old Jackson!

PS- I covet your boots. Are they Hunters? Hello stylish mama!

  2. Perhaps if you don't cover your face with the camera, but use the screen to line up your shots, he will keep smiling for you. I bet he doesn't like that big box thing covering your face and flashing light at him.
