With both sets of grandparents in tow we made rounds to the Bowen Tree Farm and the Pilchuck Secret Valley Tree Farm. Both were beautiful but I have to say, the Bowen family really knows how to pour on the charm! Their place was dar-ling!
Bowen Tree Farm.
Pilchuck Secret Valley ~ home of the world's fattest Christmas trees!
While the thrill of the hunt is never disappointing, decorating (or dressing if you prefer!) is where my heart lies! True to my word, I stayed as homespun and baby-friendly as possible when taking our home from everyday to holiday and actually adorned our tree with a handful of newly homemade ornaments. Next year I hope to take it up a notch with strung cranberries, snowflakes dusted with gold leaf, and paper chains composed of vintage prints . . all done in a color scheme of gold, teal, and cranberries. The design junkie in me just got VERY excited for 2011!
Here's some of the result of our hard work in the ornament shop!
Handmade bird wreath and snowman ornaments.
Chalkboard ornament.
The final result . . . . a lot of oooohing and ahhhhhing from our little king of Christmas. Happy tree triming!
